The tool l was used by John D. Rockefeller, George Patton, Ben Franklin, Thomas Edison, Winston Churchill, Mark Twain, Ernest Hemingway then maybe it is good enough for us.

So what is the secret? How much does it cost? Where can I get it?

Even if it offer one-tenth of what is claimed then I want some.

The tool is the simple Journal.

A place to write  and note your goals, activities, successes, failures and to reflect on how you can improve. A private place. A system that makes you accountable to your plans and goals. Or at least gets you to reflect on how you are doing compared with your aspirations, hopes and dreams.

The humble journal is making a renaissance or maybe it is just starting to be recognised as a valuable tool.

Most people in business need some form of mentor, coach or accountability buddy. Ironically, it is the humble blank page or page with prompts that actually helps people to reflect and improve on what they are doing. And yet such a simple process is often ignored.

So that’s the challenge. Can 15 minutes a day really deliver results. Like any DIY activity (be nicer, keep fit, lose weight, better time management) it is up to the individual to apply themselves to the task in hand. Over to you!
